The sophisticated vision of the Hollywood design firm, Franklin Studios, has caught the eye of Hospitality Design Magazine which has awarded this young design team a place at the table with an elite collection of designers, the 2008 Wave of the Future.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 8, 2008 — Hospitality Design Magazine will honor the unique vision of the Hollywood design firm, Franklin Studios, founded by Frank X. Medrano and Steven H. Brabson, by featuring them and their work in HD Magazine’s September issue as members of the Wave of the Future. This annual award goes out to a select group of young designers recognized for their visionary work in the design world. Also as part of the honor, Franklin Studios will be speaking on a panel at the HD Boutique Expo in Miami, on September 18th, to discuss directions and ideas in the design industry. Past recipients of the Wave of the Future award have included such well-knowns as Dodd Mitchell, Thomas Schoos, and Lionel Ohayon of ICRAVE.

In just three short years, Franklin Studios has experienced a meteoric rise to the top of the design world by gaining coveted jobs from the likes of SBE Entertainment’s Sam Nazarian, Brent Bolthouse and Las Vegas’ The Light Group. Their designs for Foxtail Supperclub, the Bolthouse Residence, and The Deuce Club/Lounge, in the Las Vegas City Center, have set them apart in the design world, and this fact has not gone unnoticed.

Franklin Studios has continued to receive calls with ever more ambitious proposals being offered to them. On the boards, this year alone, have been two national retail chains, a community center/theater in the San Fernando Valley, a restaurant on the Santa Monica Pier, a celebrity-backed restaurant/cabarete in Long Beach, and a high-end resort by the Gulf.

Medrano and Brabson founded Franklin Studios in 2005. Originally from the Midwest, they met while working together for Michael Maltzan in Los Angeles. They each went on to work for Frank O. Gehry until Medrano was offered a position with internationally recognized tastemaker Kelly Wearstler as Senior Designer at KWID. The two remained friends and in 2005 they decided to combine their talents under the banner of Franklin Studios, based in Hollywood.
