There’s a new, hip way to explore the Boston Public Garden: with an iPod audio tour. The iPod audio tour features an original musical score, ambient beats, and interviews with local people associated with the Garden. At times the tour becomes almost a meditation, as you walk among the flowers and trees, accompanied by the sounds of progressive strings and rhythms. August 21, 2008 - Boston, MA - There’s a new, hip way to explore the Boston Public Garden: with your iPod. Today the Friends of the Public Garden launched “The Public Garden Audio Tour”, a self-guided iPod audio walking tour. The iPod audio tour is available for free download at the Friends of the Public Garden website, and as a free podcast on iTunes. Visitors can also rent iPods at the Swan Boat ticket counter in the Public Garden. “Many people walk through the Garden, but don’t know the secret stories about the place,” said Henry Lee, President of the Friends of the Public Garden, the nonprofit organization that helps care for the Garden. “This iPod audio tour is a new way to interact with the garden, to immerse yourself in its stories.” The audio tour features an original musical score, ambient beats, and interviews with local people associated with the Garden. At times the tour becomes almost a meditation, as you walk among the flowers and trees, accompanied by the sounds of progressive strings and rhythms. The audio tour begins on the bridge, in the heart of the garden, and winds along the walking paths to 18 different sites. The tour stops includes:
